Yup. Happens every year in my wife's RAV4. Temps go down and the TPMS light comes on.

I also know exactly which tire it is every time: the spare hanging off the back.

On our Passat, we get the "check gas cap" light coming on when it gets really cold, somewhere around -15 C. We ignore it and it goes away.

Yup, it should go away within a few miles of driving. If it doesn't I guess you might be fucked.

Onstar emailed me about my tires yesterday. Pretty sure it's just the temperature.

That is actually really awesome.

The FieSTa has a diagnostic thing I can run, but I haven't yet, so I'm not sure what all it checks.

Just happened the other day on my NC. It's the colder temps for sure.

Along exactly the same lines as the whining in my cousin's Cobalt.

this happens often with my mother's Odyssey, as it has TPMS, and it worries her a lot.

On a related note, my father's BMW has a passive system, and I believe it compares the difference in the diameters.

Awesome in the free trial, expensive afterwards.

I think it's like $20 a month or something, not sure I'm going to keep it.

As long as all the tires still have air it's no big deal. Just correct the air pressures as soon as you can. And after you have the air pressures correct, don't freak out, because it takes a bit of driving before the light goes back out.

got that light a couple days ago when the temperature dropped 10 degrees from the day before although only one tire was low though at 25PSi and the rest of them were at 35PSi cold

TPMS is just one of those annoyances that needs to go away. Those that won't eyeball their tires aren't going to care about any lights that come on in the dash either.

I have experienced about 4 cars with TPMS. They all are absolute crap. Even the ones that tell you which tire is low. I have even checked the pressures with an air gauge. That light lies!

A friend of mine got this on her Mini Cooper S all the time. The tires were always properly inflated though. The two times she did actually get a flat, the damn thing never came on.

Definitely the cold. I've had so many people come in to work complaining of a tire light over the last few days.

I don't know about cold weather (Florida). But I had that light in my car the other day, ended up being a huge screw in drywall anchor in my tire. Worth checking the tires for nails/screws to be sure.
